Tanya de Grunwald is the host of the hit podcast This Isn’t Working, and founder of the new business network This Is Working.

Between 2018 and 2024, Tanya ran the Good + Fair Employers Club, a community of forward-thinking employers of young people, including Santander, Clifford Chance, Google, Accenture, EY and GSK. The club brought together early careers teams from large organistions to share their challenges and solutions. Members met monthly online, and twice a year in person.

In 2023, Tanya was named as one of HR Magazine’s Most Influential Thinkers.

Prior to this, Tanya ran the successful careers blog Graduate Fog, best known for exposing employers running lengthy unpaid internships (scalps included Tony Blair, Simon Cowell/Syco and Phillip Green/Arcadia). Her investigations were covered by the BBC, Guardian, Telegraph, TIME and many more. She has also been a critic of employers who use exploitative zero-hours contracts, or who threaten to charge graduates up to £20,000 in ‘exit fees’ if they leave their graduate scheme in less than two years.

Having started her career as a features writer for women’s magazines including Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and You (Mail on Sunday), Tanya wrote her first book about graduate job hunting in 2007. Since then, she has written several updated versions of this book, most recently titled: How To Get A Graduate Job In A Pandemic, funded by Santander, Vodafone and EY.

I’m fascinated by the interplay between culture and the world of work. Our workplaces reflect where we are as a society, and steer us towards wherever we are going next.
